The LTCReader is a linear timecode reader
according to SMPTE television standard (SMPTE 12M-1-2008) displaying the timecode with ability to JAM sync.

requirements:
The LTC audio signal is connected to the line audio input of the device (a dock adapter with a line input or general mic and line adapter, or adapter cable using the headset micro input is needed to feed the signal into the device !).

hints:
the used system clock might develop some inaccuracies over time, depending on the indiviudal device. We recommend using an ipod device for example.

The LTC signal comes from a LTC generator, LTC output from professional camcorders, tape recorder with LTC signal or editing equipment etc.
For your convenience a LTC test signal generator (PAL and NTSC) is also integrated into the application (not in sync for tests only).

The LTC is a biphase code in the audio frequency range (usually around 2400 kHz e.g. Baud)
The LTCReader can decode the incoming signal and display the SMPTE timecode and user bit infos. The reader can also JAM sync to the signal, so it free runs after synchronisation (even after power off). The LTCReader can display the timecode with aproximatly up to 3x of the nominal speed and also decodes reverse timecode as well as slow running signals.
PAL and NTSC with 30fps, 29.97, 25fps, 24fps and drop code is supported.
